Recent food escapade

As people close to me would agree, I have such a knack for sweet stuff. Sweet gestures, sweet compliments, but most of all, sweet foods. Teehee :3

For the most part, this summer has been about experimenting in the kitchen and trying out new food places. Food never fails to give me that satisfaction. For today, my good friend Chass and I tried out this new pastry shop at ATC. I've been hearing a lot of people raving about it and I must say, what really caught my interest was the cutesy interior of the shop which, you all will find out upon scrolling down on this post.

We met up past lunch time this afternoon despite the heavy downpour. We both needed comforting and what better way to console each other's ails than through cupcakes? :) It took us around 30mins to find the place because a.) all I know is it's on the 2nd floor; b.) the guard we asked directions from misled us; and c.) it's been awhile since I last went to ATC so I no longer know how to maneuver through it (esp. now that Metro point mall also recently opened there). Lesson learned? When visiting a new place, never forget to look it up. Knowing how to specifically go there won't hurt. tsk tsk... Although being lost at a not-so-big mall seems stupid, through all the reasons provided and much more, I beg to differ. Haha So anyway, we found the place, and whoala! Vanilla Cupcake Bakery was everything I expected it to be and waaay more. ❤

I must say, the owner must have such an amazing taste when it comes to furniture. The interiors were really amazing. I'm sure all young girls and young-girls-at-heart out there once dreamt of a room with such a splash of pastel colors. It was really refreshing and relaxing. Now I know what it must have felt like to sit and have tea in a little princess' room. It really gave a vibe like that. 😊

Look, even its ceiling gives off a super girly vibe.❤

 I
Every inch of the little shop was well thought of that one will find little cute trinkets like these in almost every corner. Cute, no? 😊

See, even their menu is soooo cute. I must say though, this has been the biggest menu I've gotten hold of. Hahaha

Here's another interesting piece. Can you catch a glimpse of the cute refrigerator? No? It's the pink one. Yep, pink fridge. What girl wouldn't want that? Heeeeee

I'd have to admit though, it was really difficult to choose from the assortment of cupcakes available. Everything just looks so delish!!! I tried picking out eccentric flavors but to no avail - almost everything is! Hahaha I was kind of really tempted to order out one of each. 😁

So in the end, Chass and I ended up with Blueberry Lemon, Vanilla Peach, and Luscious Salted Caramel on our girly plates. I just have to say though that it was really interesting to find out that the cutlery and chinaware they are serving their cupcakes with are really high-end. And by high-end, I meant European brand high-end. Yep, you heard that one right. It was no shocker therefore that one of the staff followed us outside when we decided to switch tables. She must've overheard the remark I made jokingly of how I'm real close to taking home everything in the store. Yep, everything's really that cute! 😊😁❤

And just wow, even the tiniest detail as in tea bags weren't left off un-cute (if that's even a word. Haha). Bawal ang pangit sa store na to. Who wouldn't be enticed with these colorful teas? Not to mention, it tastes amazing!!! One of my two favorite teas so far (the other one's from India). ❤ *insert whisper here* Oh and btw, I think y'all should know, these teas are from Paris. No wonder I felt so bongga in an instant. Haha😄

Read: It's okay to die of cuteness any minute now. I really fell in love with this teapot. Someday, mate, somedaaaaay!!! ❤

Ahhhh... What a better way to drown everything from problems to worries to as simple as rain than with a soothing cup of tea? It really went perfectly well with the sweet pastries we had for the afternoon.

Chass and the lovely corner table. It was definitely one of my favorite things on the shop.

My outfit's color ensemble matched the whole of the cuteness surrounding me. Notice though how interesting their chairs are. This is the gazebo area already, btw. It had a garden vibe to it complete with artificial grass, archways, fake grass and fences. It was totally adorable.

All in all, it has been such a wonderful day with this strong, beautiful and amazing woman. Nothing can be more perfect than an afternoon spent with a well-trusted confidante. Until next time, love! Here's to more years of dates and cupcakes to be shared! ❤❤❤

Basta pag nasa elbi, laging happy!

HAHAHA Stupid and lame rhyming pero what the heck. I have just been overly joyed with my last visit at my University. Samahan mo pa ng pagkain, alak (though I didn't drink that much - defensive?☺), videoke and of course FRIENDS! Oh yeah! Walang init-init kahit na summer na summer!

DAY 1:
A fun and intimate day with le boyf. :)
I really missed this. When we were still attending classes, we frequented this place. We just love how serene and relaxing this one place seem to be. We have taken too many strolls down its pavement and grasses; sat at all the cemented benches; looked at the different clouds passing by; and talked about all too many dreams, plans, frustrations and happiness. Freedom Park will always be a special place for the two of us - it has been that sole place that has seen us and our love blossom.Aw! Mushy! HAHA
DAY 2:
Lunch at Eat Sumo and dinner at Auntie Pearl's

Of course, an elbi visit can never be complete if we do not meet-up with friends. The people we have learned to call friends will always be dear to us aside from the place itself. "Lahat ng bagay nagiging masaya kapag kaibigan ang kasama". True enough. ☺

DAY 3:

Fun fun day with Grekka, Nica and Kuya Wilson. As always, I extended my elbi stay. Was supposed to go home the day after but due to that overwhelming happiness only felt with closest friends, I ended up staying a tad longer than planned. Pero okay lang. Sulit na sulit namang talaga!
Nang magising si Nica, narealize niyang gusto niya talagang mag-swimming. So, an hour later, tadaaaah! Nasa Pook na kami ni Mariang Makiling at nageenjoy sa mainit na panahon at malamig na tubig. Sarap eh! ♥

Elbi will always be that one place I can de-stress. It has always been that comfort zone that clothes me whenever I'm down. Will always be thankful to it esp. for the friends I've made through the years. Until my dearest friends are there, I won't ever tire of going back again and again and again. ☺

Hindi ako Lasenggera

Taken September of 2008. Grekka and I looking young and tipsy.
As one of my students happen to mention about drinking beer tonight, I came to realize that it has been a long time since I last drank one. Life really is different when apart from that one I used to call College.

When I was a University student, I often drink alcohol with friends. Don't get me wrong here, I am no alcoholic and party-addict. From time to time, we just like celebrating and ending a long, tiring and stressful day with our favorite drink at hand at our favorite place with our favorite people. There was even an inside joke that students in our campus are wild party-goers. Well, I don't know about all people in our lot for I cannot speak for them, but in my crowd, it was never like that. We just party to  laugh at our nitwittedness, talk about our misgivings, rant about frustrations and basically, to just enjoy each other's company. Savoring the alcohol just comes second.

Spending nights with friends over alcohol is the thing that I would never have traded even if offered with a hefty price. It is priceless and more often than not, how I met my dearest friends that I still hold on up 'til now.

Talking with my student kind of made me realize that I miss beer. My taste buds' longing for its bitter taste, my nose for its stenchy smell, and my eyes for its wiwi-looking color. But more importantly, I miss my friends and our reckless dispositions, our vibe for adventures and that feeling of youngness that got us into thinking that we're invisible, all-knowing and we've got the rest of our lives to toy around with. Gawd, I miss college. I miss tisi.

Blessings are everywhere

Today is November 26, 2010. So that means, yesterday was November 25th? HAHA Yes. Exactly! But, I didn't just say that for fun (and look stupid) because as I realized what date it was today and realized soon after what date it was yesterday, my heart just pounded thrice more for joy.

Yesterday, November 25, 2010, exactly 1 month before Christmas, I received a text from my aunt saying that Enchanted Kingdom is again looking for kids to sponsor for their annual kids' treat. And, she also asked if I'm still connected with UP Thursday Club so that we can again help them in making children's wishes come true. In that instant, I knew this is going to be big. Having been able to participate once in an event as this, my mind just blew of excitement. This will be big not for me, or my org, but to those little kids who, sometimes don't even have the opportunity to appreciate the time of their lives to be just only kids.

I am just so amazed as to how God works. I just can't be thankful enough at how wonderful this blessing is. Being an instrument used to touch others' lives has always been rewarding. I am just so happy for this opportunity. I cannot help but reminisce our last participation on this kids' treat. It has been chaotic, indeed. Haha Imagine, we went there just after Christmas and almost all people around the islands are eager to spend away the money they all got from the aguinaldo's of family members and friends. 18, 000 people were there that day and we were one of those lucky ones. So just imagine, 5 adults, handling 25 kids in a stream of people. Hahaha And don't get me started with the lines we had to endure just to get these kids spots on rides! First 2 rides pa lang, we were literally out of breath already.☺Pero it was all worth it. The kids' smiles, their innocent wonder at how beautiful one place could be is just totally rewarding, and I wouldn't mind experiencing that over and over and over again. ☺

So now maybe, you might somehow have a hint as to why I am just so thrilled about this. And can I just say it again that this wonderful opportunity happened a month before Christmas? Oh! So cool! (Please read with Taylor Swift's excitement voice) Hahaha

Oh well, there's nothing like making angels happy even for just a while. :))

Wouldn't you trade anything to see them this happy? :)
